The Forum organized a non-partisan public candidates night in Deerfield Weds 10/15.

Voters should be impressed by the responsiveness of the Democratic candidates for State Representative and State Senate in State Representative District Rockingham 1 (Candia, Deerfield, Northwood & Nottingham).

Of the 8 offices under consideration, 8 Democratic candidates attended. Only 3 Republicans came to face the voters.

All 5 Democratic Candidates for State Representative attended the event.
Gile Beye, Maureen Mann, Susi Nord, Dick Snow and Tom St.Martin made brief statements and then answered questions from the audience.

Rockingham District 1 shares 3 Senate districts.

All 3 Democratic Senate candidates came to present their thoughts and listen to the voters.
Democratic Senate candidates are:
Jackie Cilley for Senate District 6 ( Nottingham);
Bob Backus for Senate District 16 (Candia);
Chaz Proulx for Senate District 17 (Deerfield & Northwood).

Only 1 Republican Senate candidate (Jack Barnes, Dist 17)and 2 Representative candidates (Frank Case & Jim Sullivan)were present. Where were the 5 missing Republicans? They neglected to show at a public voter information event, with an open floor for voter questions.

You'll have to draw your own conclusions, but I think last night speaks volumes about which candidates are really interested in listening to and representing the people of Rockingham 1.
