Inaugural Bash– New Hampshire Style

01/08/09 | by cdblogger [mail] | Categories: Events

You are invited to an Inaugural Ball to celebrate the accomplishments of Democrats, Progressives, Liberals, and Not-Quite-Sure-But-Glad-Obama-Won folks from Rockingham District 1 (and their friends).

The purpose of the event is to:
• Celebrate election victories from the local to the national level.
• Begin a “kitty” for the 2010 State Representative races for our district - a pot will be set out for a voluntary donation but your presence is requested with or without.
• Rebuild our local food pantries; please bring non-perishable foods or shampoo, tissues, paper towels, diapers, soap, deodorant, hair products, toothpaste and the like. Monetary donations are also welcome.
• Promote interaction among Democrats and their supporters; we can be fun even when there is not an election.

WHERE: 52 Stage Road, Deerfield [Route 43 near the Fairgrounds] Bob and Maureen Mann
WHEN: 5:00 pm, Sunday, January 18 [next day is a holiday-MLK Day]
REFRESHMENTS: Pot Luck – if we have all deserts and no main dishes, or the other way around, who cares? It is a party. Soft drinks will be provided-and maybe more.
R.S.V.P.: To Maureen at mrm123456789(AT)aol(DOT)com or 463-9990, or to your town chair.
DRESS: NH formalwear: flannel and earmuffs.

PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO ANYONE WHO YOU FEEL MIGHT BE INTERESTED.

Post Election Blues!

Well, who'd a thunk it?
Obama, oops make that President Obama B) , Gov Lynch, Senator Shaheen, Congressman Hodes, Congresswoman Shea-Porter....
(for local results, please visit The Forum )

Democrats, by all means, we deserve to relish these victories. But not too long. And, no gloating. There's way too much to do.

It isn't over with the election. The short term goal was to win the election. But the REAL goal is to solve the real problems we all face.

I challenge everyone reading this blog - Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or whatever - to be the best American you can be.

Let's move forward past the election and work together to make our communities stronger.

See something that needs doing? Do it! See someone that needs help? Help them!

Government provides a framework. It's up to us - me and you - to use that framework to make our country be the best it can be.

We've made history. But the best is yet to be. It's up to us.

Make History!
